Spirituality and Eco-Justice: Living Simply, Living Abundantly

April 18 @ 9:00 am12:00 pm

When is enough… enough? How can we avoid getting caught up in the trappings of consumerism and a desire for more? Susie Tierney will draw from Franciscan spirituality, our call to simplicity weaved throughout scripture and the wisdom of those working for the care of our planetary home to invite participants to reflect on what it means to live simply but fully in today’s world and to embrace a spirituality of abundance. The morning will include prayerful reflection and small group conversation.

Susie Tierney is the Development Director for Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice. Prior to joining the Iowa MMJ staff, Susie served as the Executive Director of JustFaith Ministries (KY) and Center for Social Ministry (IA). Susie has been doing presentations, workshops and retreats on the intersection of faith and justice for over 25 years. She is a mom, writer, advocate and a Dubuque Franciscan Associate.
